Executive Summary

The Aeronautics major was developed in alignment with the vision of St. Teresa International University to produce graduates with morality, ethics, academic excellence, professionalism, and readiness to work in aviation-related professions upon graduation. The primary aim of the program is to meet the growing demand for qualified aviation personnel and support the development of the aviation industry.

The curriculum was first approved in 2016, and the first cohort commenced their studies in the academic year 2017.

In 2020, a curriculum revision was undertaken to ensure that the program remained relevant to the evolving needs of the aviation industry. A series of meetings and consultations were conducted with both internal and external stakeholders to gather feedback and recommendations for curriculum improvement. As a result, several enhancements were introduced to strengthen students’ aviation knowledge, practical skills, English language competency, and career opportunities within the aviation sector.

Following the revision, the updated curriculum was approved by the Academic Council on September 25, 2020, and by the College Council on October 9, 2020. The curriculum was subsequently submitted to the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation (MHESI), formerly under the Office of the Higher Education Commission (OHEC), and received official approval on February 10, 2021. The revised curriculum was implemented in the academic year 2021.

As part of its commitment to continuous quality improvement, the Aeronautics Major initiated another curriculum revision in 2025 to further enhance the program in response to current aviation industry trends, technological advancements, and stakeholder expectations. The revised curriculum is expected to be implemented in the academic year 2026.

The program remains committed to producing competent aviation professionals equipped with the knowledge, skills, and global perspectives required by the dynamic aviation industry.
