Executive Summary
Master of Education Program in Learning Science (English Program) New Program 2020 to produce master’s degree teachers who are experts in curriculum innovation development and learning management to raise the standard of learning management using English as a medium. The curriculum development follows the standard criteria of the Master of Education Program. The Office of the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Higher Education, etc., accredited the Master of Education Program in Learning Science on May 24, 2020. This program started accepting students in the first semester of the 2020 academic year (study and thesis, totalling 36 credits) and was revised in the same year to provide opportunities to apply for a teacher’s license for those who did not graduate in education/educational education, who must study, intern for teaching experience, and write a thesis, totalling not less than 46 credits. This program will be used for 5 years in the 2024 academic year.
The Master of Education in Learning Management Science program was established in 2020 under the Faculty of Education at St. Theresa International University, following curriculum quality standards from the Higher Education Commission (HEC) and the Teachers Council of Thailand. It aims to produce educators with advanced knowledge, practical teaching skills, strong ethics, and leadership capacity in learning management, while maintaining an international and bilingual educational focus.
Curriculum and Program Development
The curriculum is competency-based and revised periodically to meet national and ASEAN quality assurance standards. The 2020 version emphasized six dimensions of program learning outcomes (PLOs), which were streamlined into four dimensions—Knowledge, Skills, Ethics, and Characteristics—in the 2025 revised curriculum, aligning with the HEC 2022 guidelines. Students may choose between two academic tracks:
- Plan 2.1(1): Thesis-only program (36 credits)
- Plan 2.1(2): Program that includes teacher licensure requirements (46 credits)
Learning outcomes are clearly distributed over the two years of study and integrated into both coursework and thesis development. The curriculum design is informed by feedback from internal and external stakeholders and is regularly updated through internal committee reviews.
Program Structure and Faculty
The program is delivered by highly qualified academic staff, all of whom hold doctoral degrees. The core faculty members include distinguished researchers with publications indexed in SCOPUS and TCI, covering themes in curriculum development, learning innovation, and educational administration. Five instructors were responsible for the curriculum during the reporting year.
Key faculty strengths include:
- Advanced degrees in education and mathematics
- Multiple international publications
- Experience in educational leadership and research mentoring
Student Enrollment and Performance
Between 2021 and 2024, the program enrolled 55 students. The students are predominantly working professionals, and many complete the program while employed. Data on graduation rates and employment is currently being developed. The academic year 2024 saw a steady increase in new student enrollment, indicating the growing relevance and recognition of the program.
